Today was awesome in the sense of I felt like a kid again. I was in awe of the mega ramp jumpers. That
MEGA ramp is definitely something that came from a dream and was made reality. Check out these clips from practice today:
16 ft. McTwist - Tony Hawk
Omar Hassan - Rocket Air
Brian Patch - Frontside Air
The Womens Division was really good. Lynn-Z Adams Hawkins and Carabeth battled it out just like last weekend, but Lynn-Z made a solid kickflip indy and a kickflip to fakie up at the top of the roll in. Carabeth was solid. She almost learned kick flip indy's during the jam session. Mimi Knoop was making inverts, f.s. inverts , ollies, and stalefish's. Holly Lyons was hanging on to some of the highest airs she's ever done. Jen O'brien was flowing over the hip and in the bowl end. 30 minutes of the girls raging hard and they ended up like this (see below):0
The Mens Vert Best Trick was awesome too. It was a tough one to be a judge on for sure. Everyone wanted to see Sandro Dias' 900 and he delivered. He nailed that and a lot of other 540 variations like a judo and frigid 540 (same trick!). Pierre-Luc Gagnon made nollie heel flip 540's, then kept on busting out all kinds of crazy lip tricks through out the jam. The Danny Mayer snuck into the jam as an alternate and made a gnarly kickflip McTwist! Colin Mckay only nailed one trick and it happened while they place was still roaring from Sandros 900. Burnquist was bailing many hard tricks like a frontside ollie 540, frontside cab to nose grind. He did stick a no footed frontside boneless to tail (or truck, it was hard to tell). Jake Brown wanted the 900 really bad! He made several close attempts but never brought it all the way around. Jake Rules anyways!
(I'll Update with Pics and more video clips when I get a chance to make them)
